About the Artist

Mo played shows for over 2 decades on 4 continents to the big folks. Now, when he's not in schools rocking out with kids, he's at his weekly shows rocking out with kids. Either way, he's rocking out with kids.

Teaching Philosophy

Mo empowers kids to grab hold of their inner beat and turn it up to 11. He brings unmatched energy to every school, and helps kids develop the tools to channel their excitement for rock into making real songs.

Program Description

Express yourself! A twenty year veteran of writing songs and performing them around the world, Mo Phillips engages students in the craft of song writing and how to get stories, emotions, and ideas into song form.

In this program Mo introduces the different elements of a song including mood, tempo, rhythm and lyric writing, both rhyming and free form. At the end of the program the class will have an original tune that they have written together ready to rock for their friends and family!

How to Schedule Programs

In-Person	Residency Session	$75.00	35	A residency is a program with 3 or more sessions per classroom. Residency session prices are based on a 50 minute session. Some artists may prefer different session lengths and will pro-rate the cost.
In-Person	Workshop Session	$100.00	35	Workshops can be one or two sessions per class. Each session is 50 minutes long.
In-Person	Family Arts Night Workshop	$250.00	100	A 90 minute workshop for students and families, typically in the evening or on weekends.
In-Person	Teacher Workshop	$229.00	30	A 90 minute workshop for teachers.
	Planning Meeting	$75.00		An in person planning meeting with partnering teachers is required for residencies.
	Additional Planning	$75.00		Additional planning time with teachers or volunteers, etc.
	Prep Hours	$75.00		Cost per hour spent on activities in support of the program (e.g. setting up/cleaning a classroom, research, curriculum development, etc.). 1 hour per contract.
	Mileage/Travel Costs			Artist may charge extra for travel greater than 15 miles from downtown Portland at the current IRS rate. This program is available within 30 miles of Portland, unless lodging is provided.
	Media Editing/Copying/Uploading			$75 per grade brand for a basic acoustic recording. $75 per classroom for a full band karaoke version.
