About the Artist

3 nationalities (El Salvador, Peru, US) and individual lifetimes of international performance make up Inka Jam. They are dedicated to researching South American folklore, funk and jazz, blending cultures in their original compositions.

Teaching Philosophy

Our multicultural performances model how different worlds can joyfully partner together without losing their identity. We love fusion with an Andean flare! Music and dance are universal languages which motivate awareness, understanding and peace.

Program Description

The flexibility and width of Jazz guitarist John JB Butler infuses the Peruvian Traditional music with a very unique flavor. The program includes Luciana's and JB's compositions as well as traditional Afro-Peruvian and Andean music. The duo adapts each show to the audience and some include dancing and a Peruvian myth from Luciana. Luciana will also guide the audience in participation, encouraging children and adults to join the call and response or try out a traditional rhythm.
Instrumentation: vocals, guitar, Cajon and small hand percussion.
