About the Artist

David is a filmmaker, multimedia artist and educator. He graduated with a BFA in Film/Video in 2005 from California Institute of the Arts and is completing his Masters in Elementary Education at Goddard College.

Program Description

We can animate anything! Students bring their learning and stories to life utilizing stop motion techniques and skills as teams developing a range of 21st century and STEAM mindsets.

David strives to accommodate to the technology available and can use iPads, Chromebooks or laptops. During the residency students will create short movies to bring their learning to life. We structure the work into Pre-production, Production, and Post-production. Students move from idea generation and planning, through the creation of their story, culminating in the editing process needed to complete the short film for presentation.

Session 1 can be done as an assembly style in Grade bands if space is available.

In-Person	Workshop Session	$100.00	35	Workshops can be one or two sessions per class. Each session is 50 minutes long.
In-Person	Family Arts Night Workshop	$214.00	35	A 90 minute workshop for students and families, typically in the evening or on weekends.
In-Person	Teacher Workshop	$179.00	35	A 90 minute workshop for teachers.
	Planning Meeting	$71.00		An in person planning meeting with partnering teachers is required for residencies.
	Additional Planning	$71.00		Additional planning time with teachers or volunteers, etc.
	Prep Hours	$57.00		Time spent on activities in support of the program (e.g. setting up/cleaning a classroom, research, curriculum development, etc.). Plan on 1 hour prep per classroom.
	Culminating Event	$100.00		Artist time to oversee a student performance, gallery event, etc.
	Mileage/Travel Costs			IRS rate from 97221 zip code. Travel limitations outside of metro area based on program type and availability. Smaller residencies are more ideal for locations greater than 25 miles from 97221. Flexibility based on time and availability.
	Equipment Use			$15 fee per iPad for equipment use and stop motion apps (plan on $150).
	Supplies			$5-$10 per classroom.
	Media Editing/Copying/Uploading			$75-$100 per classroom (finetuning, editing, uploading, and combining videos into a shareable collection)
