Teaching Philosophy
Kids Junk Orchestra focuses on group cooperation, basic rhythm drumming skills, team building, specialized drumming instruction, and a safe environment to perform musically.
Testimonial
"What Kids Junk Orchestra brought to our community was something extremely special and much needed. We can't thank you enough for your care, attention and incredible event" -Assistant Principal, Sabin Elementary
Program Description
In this performance Kids Junk Orchestra players beat on whatever surface they can think of --- drums, bongos, cowbells, pots and pans and, of course, buckets.
This is an original musical that takes you on a journey of different styles of music from blues to jazz to hip-hop, and everything in between- but percussion is the thing. Kids Junk Orchestra is a performing history of percussion that travels to different regions to discover African, Latin, Reggae rhythms and music from their beginnings all the way to the present- all in a 45-minute performance!
