About the Artist

Originally from Mexico City, she lived in China, Vietnam, India, and Malaysia before setting up her studio in Portland, OR. Her love for nature has been a signature stamp that she includes in her work.

Teaching Philosophy

Veronica looks for engaging the students with movement and showing them different art works first, then she let them find their own creativity. She believes each of us have something to express and that can be done through art.

Program Description

The students will learn to manipulate clay and work with it. Doing hand building techniques like pinch pottery, coil building, and slab building; creating forms without a pottery wheel, using the hands, fingers, and simple tools.
The students will use hand building techniques to build different objects from clay. They will learn to use clay to express their imaginations and document their observations while creating 3D sculptures.

How to Schedule Programs

Performance | Residency | Workshop

Delivery Method	Component Name	Cost	Description
In-Person	Residency Session	$100.00	Residency session prices are based on a 50 minute session. Some artists may prefer different session lengths and will pro-rate the cost.
In-Person	Workshop Session	$100.00	Workshops can be one or two sessions per class. Each session is 50 minutes long.
In-Person	Family Arts Night Workshop	$200.00	A 90 minute workshop for students and families, typically in the evening or on weekends.
	Planning Meeting	$100.00	An in person planning meeting with partnering teachers is required for residencies.
	Additional Planning		Additional planning time with teachers or volunteers, etc.
	Prep Hours	$100.00	Time spent on activities in support of the program (e.g. setting up/cleaning a classroom, research, curriculum development, etc.) One hour prep/cleaning per day on site.
	Kiln/Firing Services	$100.00	One hour to load/unload the kiln on firing and unloading days.
	Equipment Use		Expect equipment rental costs if artist's equipment is used. $40 per week.
	Materials Preparation Fee	$100.00	Time spent preparing materials outside of program days. One hour per classroom.
	Supplies		Clay- approximately $53 per classroom Glaze- approximately $25 per classroom Additional materials- $20 per classroom
