About the Artist
Lindsay Clark is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and writer, bringing 10+ years of experience as an educator, whose music has been featured on NPR, Popmatters, Oregon Arts and many other publications. She has toured throughout Europe and the US.
Teaching Philosophy
Her teaching philosophy includes that music is a language that can be learned, and that immersion is part of acquiring that language. She focuses on social emotional learning and resiliency for students to meet challenges and explore new skills.
Testimonial
I don't have a quote for this specifically, but I do have a lot of parent testimonials from students I have taught. Let me know what might work or I can dig a little for something like this.
Program Description
Lindsay Clark is an accomplished musician, performer and writer who loves to share her work with young audiences. Lindsay finds balance between traditional and experimental folk, with a a strong background in classical music. She has carved out a place as an artist with a penchant for poetry, rich harmony and a unique style of self-taught fingerpicking.
Lindsay wants young people to see examples of creative work in the world and to understand the healing and transformative power of music, writing and the arts as a vehicle for self expression, self reflection, self regulation, understanding and making new connections in the world, and giving context to our experiences beyond our personal stories.
She will play a 30-60 minute set of her own original songs (folk / experimental, with classical and traditional folk influences), with an option to talk about her path as a musician and/or the importance and impact of the creative process.
