Program Description

Integrating current reading materials, students get a new way to dive into three different forms of text: short textual stories, poems, and picture books. Students will learn about how to analyze text and then make that text come alive with sound and music. Over the course of this residency students will stretch their creative and group collaborative skills. Working in groups, students will research for inspiration. Then, using provided ipads, they will collect, record, and generate sounds and music to underscore their text. Pushing their understanding of the function and use of sound design to enhance storytelling. The residency will culminate in a share-out with the other students.
