About the Artist

While teaching at a YMCA preschool, Rick learned the importance and power of social-emotional learning. Rick earned his professional engineering license, but decided that teaching social skills was more important to him than designing HVAC systems.

Teaching Philosophy

Self-expression and self-awareness are essential life skills. By practicing the tactics they learn in Rick's assemblies, students become better communicators and better able to handle life's challenges.

Testimonial

"The Bohemian Rhapsody of assemblies: the energy ramps up & down beautifully!" - Mara Preibe, Dakota Assemblies

Program Description

The conflict resolution process presented in a super-hero themed assembly. In an interactive collection of skits & songs, students discover their real-life super power to save humanity from its biggest enemies: hate, fear, and anger.

Your students will learn steps and tools that they can use to become their own real-life super hero and solve their own conflicts.

Participants learn and practice skills like:
- how to effectively interrupt the conflict cycle
- using "when ... I felt ..." statements to communicate emotions & desires
- the power of listening to others
- how to find a "win-win" resolution

We highly recommend that schools split their students into two performances. Performances are 30 minutes for K-2 and 50 minutes for 3-5.
