Testimonial

"My son can be a perfectionist and give up when something is difficult. Mark was supportive and encouraging, and my son came home with an incredible drawing he was proud of." - parent of 3rd grade student, PPS

Program Description

This program provides students with an opportunity to interpret the world around them using a variety of mediums. Using implements as basic as pencil up to learning the nuances of depicting light and shadow with conte crayon, students begin to develop a keener interest in their environments by recognizing their ability to depict and alter them as they recognize and develop their personal style. As techniques are shared, compared, and discussed, students meet challenges and learn to develop images from their most basic forms and shapes into drawings with light, depth, and mass. They will discover an appreciation for detail and find and recognize beauty in unexpected places.
This residency is available for two or more classrooms.
