Program Requirements At least 10x10 space, gym or auditorium is ideal. Any flooring is OK but wood is ideal. iPod or computer plug or bluetooth in to a speaker. Electrical outlet. One table, access to dry erase marker and board.

About the Artist

Luciana Proaño is a Peruvian dancer and artist dedicated to multidisciplinary and cross cultural work. Her unique aesthetic style shows that her Peruvian heritage and world travels are blended deeply in her subconscious. In Portland since 1993.

Teaching Philosophy

I teach for people to discover something about themselves while enjoying collaboration and community. Mythology fosters open minds in a diverse world where we are a microcosm of that diversity.

Program Description

Learn basic polyrhythms and Peruvian rhythms along with the history of slavery in Peru. This residency will enhance coordination, ear training and collaboration. Please note this style of dance is done mostly a cappella.

This program may be done as a residency or a single session workshop.
