Program Description

Students use circus and clown skills to explore the abstract concepts of gravity, force, motion, inertia and balance in this fun-filled residency led by Albert Alter, former chemical engineer and Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus clown. They learn to juggle and balance objects, coming to scientifically understand why some are easier to balance than others, and also learn how circus performers use science to create "enhanced performance value moves" that make a routine spectacular! The program was developed through the John F. Kennedy Center's Seminar on arts-integrated residencies.
