Program Description

Learn to create with intention by examining how emotion is created through photography. Over the course of 5-6 sessions students will learn technical skills photographers use such as perspective, composition, and lighting, as well as basic posing and how those skills are used to evoke an emotion through an image.

The program will allow students to create their own learning experience by providing them with opportunities to work as a class, in small groups, and self reflection on what is presented throughout the program. Students will learn how messages are crafted in media and will be provided with the tools they’ll need to be able to effectively craft messages through photography. During the program students will design and take photos that convey a specific emotion answering the question "How can feelings be visually portrayed using photography?"
