About the Artist

Nikki, licensed K-12, specializes in Creative Dramatics Arts Integration with focus on social emotional, group dynamics and connection, she nurtures an environment where students find joy through creating and playing together, honoring their instincts.

Program Description

Students learn Creative Dramatics to collaborate and practice kindness, using social and emotional skills and teamwork to create stories about helping. How to be a kind human.
(Grades k-2)

This 3-5 sessions residency incorporates basic creative dramatics skills that involve body movement, vocal exploration, creative storytelling, and problem solving through ensemble, partner, and independent activities. Students investigate these tools and how they are useful in communication, speaking, and creatively bringing ideas to life and story.

Body and spatial awareness, coordination, and balance techniques will be introduced through exercises and activities, encouraging safe and creative physical ways of movement while building community and enjoying imaginative social play.

Personal Interactions and community interactions.
Students will build listening skills and an appreciation of each other while being encouraged to have an active voice and an awareness of respect for self and others.
Students will contemplate deeper meaning perspectives and connection to self and world.
This connection will encourage problem-solving, decision making, and emotional understanding.
Students will practice retelling selected stories while community building and gaining social group skills and comprehension.
