About the Artist

Jess Graff has delivered arts-based programs in the Pacific NW for nearly 15 years. She has participated in many gallery shows and residency programs at schools, art centers, and museums. Her work ranges from sculptural ceramics to fibers and paint media.

Teaching Philosophy

Jess Graff is passionate about creating accessible, equitable classroom spaces and choice-based arts experiences that invite people of diverse ages and backgrounds to collaborate, create, and communicate together.

Program Description

Get weird and wacky with mad science! Students will explore all things ooey-gooey, and glowy while learning the art and science behind this delightful chemistry. Learn color theory while mixing colors, explore textures and shapes, and create slime sculptures! Depending on the length of residency, several mix, make, and take experiments for slime and thermo-reactive goo will be available with the option to add black-light and LED extravaganzas.

Students will learn about the science of slime while making their own! Offered as an individual session, this hands on activity can be coordinated as a live session, video session, or written plan will illustrations.

This program may be done as a residency or a single session workshop.

	Additional Pre-Recorded Video License	$64.00		License for other classrooms to use the same pre-recorded video.
In-Person	Workshop Session	$85.00	35	Workshops can be one or two sessions per class. Each session is 50 minutes long.
In-Person	Family Arts Night Workshop	$207.00	35	A 90 minute workshop for students and families, typically in the evening or on weekends.
In-Person	Teacher Workshop	$171.00	35	A 90 minute workshop for teachers.
	Planning Meeting	$45.00		An in person planning meeting with partnering teachers is required for residencies.
	Additional Planning	$45.00		Additional planning time with teachers or volunteers, etc.
	Prep Hours	$45.00		Time spent on activities in support of the program (e.g. setting up/cleaning a classroom, research, curriculum development, etc.). Plan on .5 hours per classroom session.
	Culminating Event	$85.00		Artist time to oversee a student performance, gallery event, etc.
	Mileage/Travel Costs	$64.00		IRS rate per mile round trip from Lents, plus driving time. This program is available across Oregon and Washington. For programs over one hour from Portland, private lodging is required.
	Supplies			$6 per student
