About the Artist
As a teacher, Donna is known for her enthusiasm, passion, and respect for the origins of the culture and styles of dances she shares. Her classes are fun, challenging and educational, with a lot of support & encouragement for self-expression.
Teaching Philosophy
Having passion for what it is that you are sharing with others is key. My belief is that students learn best through experience and experimentation. Learning to express through dance can be an invaluable form of self-discovery.

Program Description
This is an introductory level workshop/classes for those interested in learning the basic movements of the famous dance style - Popping. It's super fun, accessible for all ages and rewarding even after just a few classes.
Students will be taught foundational techniques within popping vocabulary including waving, tutting, robot skills and how to create the electric illusion with the "pop." Donna will teach basic concepts as well as small choreographies for students to practice and or perform. She will also encourage students to get comfortable with free-styling if that is what they prefer. Donna has created a handful of dance games for all ages, to help her students get in the creative zone. Sometimes she works with character creation and sometimes with concepts that help her students connect with the music or practice a particular theme.
After this course students will have a greater understanding of the elements that create the inspiring illusions of popping and how popping is also a foundation to learning Hip Hop.
This program may be done as a residency or a single session workshop.
